Catch Feebas

If you've never heard of Feebas, you're not alone. Feebas is one of the rarest Pokemon in the entire game. The only place you'll be able to find it is on Route 119, the route directly west of Fortree City. The only catch is that Feebas only appears in 6 out of approximately 400 tiles. Now it wouldn’t be so bad, but the 6 tiles are randomly reset every time you change the "popular phrase" in Dewford Town. Again it wouldn’t be so bad if you could just set the phrase to what someone else has and then fish in the spot the other person was to get it. But alas, this won’t work. When you change the phrase the 6 squares are randomized again.

The best way to catch Freebas is to start Surfing in the lower right corner of Route 119 and then move left all the way, up one row, then right all the way and continue in that pattern. That way you will be sure to hit every tile. I suggest that you fish in each tile 5 times, so that you don't accidentally miss a tile that Feebas is in. I recommend that you use the Old Rod because then you won’t have to waste as much time on the many other Pokemon you find by fishing.

When you do find a tile with Feebas, you will be sure to find a lot of them. In the squares where he appears, he has an approximate encounter rating of around 60-80%. So you will see him many times. I would recommend grabbing a few, and making sure you get at least one female, that way you can always breed more so that you will never have to search for him again. Just remember that the tile you're fishing in will be the tile that you're facing, not the tile that you're Surfing on.

Once you finally catch your very own Feebas, you'll notice that it's very similar to Magikarp. All it will know is Splash, until Level 15 when it finally learns Tackle. So why would someone go through so much trouble to get such a pathetic Pokemon? Well like Magikarp, it's evolved form, Milotic, is one of the best Pokemon in the entire game. Milotic learns some amazing attacks, including Recover and has great overall stats. Now here is your second challenge: how do I evolve Feebas to Milotic?

Unlike Magikarp, Freebas doesn't evolve when it reaches a certain Level. Instead it evolves only when its Beauty rating is high enough. You can only feed a Pokemon 12 Pokeblocks before it won’t eat anymore, therefore you need high quality Pokeblocks to feed your Feebas.

I recommend that you need to feed it Blue, Indigo, White, Gray and Gold Pokeblocks. Blue Pokeblocks increase just Beauty, Indigo increase Beauty and one other condition, and the other three Pokeblocks increase 2-4 conditions. If you can feed it a Gold Pokeblock and it increases your Beauty condition then you're very lucky. Gold Pokeblocks are counted as a class A Pokeblock and greatly improve the chosen condition greatly. The berries I reccommend you use are: Chesto Berry, Oran Berry, Bluk Berry, Kelpsy Berry, Hondew Berry, Cornn Berry, Pamtre Berry and Leichi Berry (which is only located on Mirage Island). The place where thr berries are blended can affect what color Pokeblock is created, so try to experiment a bit.

When Freebas won't take any more berries, you can level it up by battling other Pokemon. The best way for it to get experience is by attaching Exp. Share to it, therefore it won't have to battle, but it will still get half the experience. If Feebas's Beauty status reaches 170, which is pretty close to its max, then it will evolve into Milotic.
