All Video Games Cheats / Gameboy/ Gameboy Advance cheats / Pokemon Red/Blue/YellowGetiing Mew the REAL wayPlease! Read this cheat before you try to get mew! To get Mew in Pokemon Yellow, you need to have Fly and not to have beaten the 5th trainer AFTER you beat nugget bridge, AND not to have beaten the gambler facing UP torwards the house in the middle between Lavander Town and Saffron City. First, you have to go to the gambler facing the house, but as soon as he sees you, use Fly. Be sure that you save before he sees you, just in case something goes wrong. Trust me, it took me 3 times to get it right. If you get it right, fly to Cerulean and face the 5th trainer after the nugget bridge. Just so you know, you have to beat the hiker near the grass and the youngster facing down near the hiker. Now you can face the trainer facing up that is nessecary to get mew. He has a Lv 17 Slowpoke, so make sure your Pikachu still has Thunder Wave. I would get rid of Thundershock for Thunderbolt if I was you. Your start, a and b buttons will not work until you beat the trainer with the slowpoke. If you beat him, your buttons will work and then Fly to Lavender Town. Make sure your Pikachu is first, though, so that you can paralyze the Mew (Lv 7). Head towards Saffron and your menu button will start up. Press B and you will battle Mew. Mew only has Pound, and is easy to train. At lv 30 it learns Metronome. It took me less than 5 minutes to catch Mew. I caught mine with a great ball, so i would have like 10 of the great balls and, just in case, 10 pokeballs. This cheat works, and it didn't mess up my game. Good luck! PS: Moves your mew should know to be very powerful: Metronome (or mega punch, your choice), Psychic, Bubblebeam, and ThunderboltSubmitted by Casey, 27-Jun-2005
