About GameBoy AdvanceWhat's a Gameboy?
The Nintendo Gameboy was the first console that made mobile video gaming a reality. For the first time, a cartridge based system was available that
delivered Nintendo quality gameplay combined with fantastic graphics at a small size. Another radical leap in hand-held entertainment came with the Gameboy Color.
Full Compatibility to Gameboy and Gameboy Color
Both the Gameboy Advance and Advance SP are fully compatible with all pre-existing GameBoy and GameBoy Color games.
The game library includes more than 700 GameBoy and GameBoy Color video games --
with many more being released for GameBoy Advance.
Up to four Gameboy Advances can link up for incredible multiplayer action, occasionally requiring just one Game Pak. GBA Interfaces with Nintendo Gamecube
For certain games, GameBoy Advance has the ability to serve as a controller for
the Nintendo GameCube as well.
GameBoy Advance
The Gameboy Advance requires only 2 "AA" alkaline batteries, and
provides uninterrupted gameplay with a battery life of 15 hours! (Gameboy Advance SP has rechargeable batteries). This is
certainly a technological achievement, given that the GBA runs with a 32 bit CPU,
with color graphics and digital stereo PCM sound.
